Open to all OsceolaCounty children in Grades 4-12. Enter either or both contest sections. All winning entrants are asked to arrive at the National Day of Prayer Event, Veteran’s Park in St. Cloud by 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010.
General Entry Rules:
Non-compliant entries cannot be judged and will be discarded.
The 2009 NDP theme,“Prayer . . . For Such a Time as This”is included on each entry. Inclusion of the accompanying verse, "The LORD is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in Him" Nahum 1:7, is encouraged.
Each entry must be Original Work By The Student.

Judging based on grade level, originality, creativity, neatness, interpretation of and adherence to theme, use of supporting details, and rule fulfillment.

Preferred size is 8”x 10” paper.
Use of computer-generated graphics is not allowed.
Work that is obviously traced and/or copied will be deemed ineligible.
Students may use any drawing medium (crayon, pencil, paint, ink, pastels, etc.) to show their interpretation of the theme and accompanying verse.
Additional Rules, Essay:
Topic: What doesthe 2010 NDP theme, “Prayer . . . For Such a Time as This” mean to me?Inclusion of the accompanying verse is strongly encouraged.
Stay on topic. Include an introductory sentence, at least 3 paragraphs, and a conclusion sentence. Use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. Essay should be at least 100 words and no more than 300 words. A full one-page typed entry is ideal!
Essay MUST be typed or very neatly written, double spaced with one inch margins on each side.
Teachers should pre-approve entries as acceptable work. Unreadable entries cannot be judged. The entry is a clean, corrected, final copy.
