2010 National Day of Prayer Celebration Events

Osceola County, Florida

 

Eight prayer tents will surround a big tent at our main celebration in Veteran’s Park, Saint Cloud, Fl. on Thursday, May 6 from 6 a.m.- 8 p.m.

  • Education Tent  offering prayer guides for our teachers, students, school administrators and for all of our local schools.
  • Government Tent  offering prayer guides for all of our elected officials, and for our entire country. Task force member, Dr. “Buddy” Haywood’s  informative tri-fold brochure, “Prayer Changes Things,” featuring quotes from our forefathers and country’s founders, will be available at this tent.
  • Church Tent  offering prayer guides for all of our local church congregations, their pastors, families, church staffs and the important issues facing our churches. 
  • Military Tent   offering prayer guides for all of our service members and their families. Local author and Task Force member Carol Channer will be available at the tent to pray and to autograph copies of her devotional book for Military families, “Strength For Today While My Soldier Is Away.”
  • Family Tent   will be a gathering place for all of those who want to pray for their own families, and other families. A wide array of topics included joblessness, drug and alcohol abuse, domestic violence, health and spiritual needs, and prodigal children. 
  • Media Tent  offers prayer guides for fair and accurate news coverage and for a movement of righteousness to spread throughout the broadcast news, movie and television, and other media industries. 
  • Marketplace Tent  offers guided and personal prayer for all of the businesses in our communities, with a special emphasis on those struggling during this economic downturn. 
  • Celebrate Recovery Tent  will have literature and explaining this program to event visitors, along with prayer guides offering hope for anyone who has a need.
  • Art & Essay Tent displayed the entries of many local students who had created artwork or written essays with the 2010 “Prayer…For Such a Time as This” theme.
