A Brief History:
In 1997, The Promise Keepers gathered a million men on the National Mall in Washington DC to call men across our nation to a lifestyle of purity and godliness. This event directly impacted and burdened a vision in the heart of Lou Engle who began to raise up a corresponding youth movement to cry out to God for a revival to sweep across our nation. Through a series of supernatural events, the result was TheCAll DC on September 2nd, 2000, where 400,000 young people gather at the National Mall in Washington DC for prayer, worship and intermittent words of encouragement from our nation’s greatest spiritual leaders. After this TheCall DC was exported to 12 different locations across the nation, each one gathering thousands of people hungry for a movement of God. These massive gatherings were spent in cooperate fasting, praying and worshiping before God. In each Call, issues such as racism, sexual immorality and abortion were brought to light and repented for corporately by the body of Christ. The Kissimmee Silver Spurs Arena hosted one of these solemn assemblies this past January where thousands in Osceola County attended. This movement of repentance has move beyond the USA to Australia, Germany, the Philippines, Norway, England and Israel.
TheCall DC
Our nation is in a critical hour and in desperate need of Revival and Spiritual Awakening. The faith of our nation is becoming increasingly secularized, violence has become the normal means by which all fleshly desires are realized and the church has fallen prey to many of the sins common to our culture today. The condition of the church has spiraled downwards with the substitution of truth for spiritual relativism and religious tolerance. Sexual immorality, racism and abortion are just as popular in the pews as in our universities. It is time to cry out to God for mercy on our nation and revival in our churches! There is a call for 1,000,000 people to gather together again in the Nation Mall to fast and pray for God to pour out His undeserved mercy on our land on August 16, 2008

Arrangements are being made for a bus of people from various churches to join in the trip to Washington DC to pray at our Nation’s Capital. The bus will leave St. Cloud and travel straight to the National Mall, allowing the group to join in this 12 hours solemn assembly and then return to St. Cloud at its completion. There will be no tours of the area, no hotels, and participants are encouraged (but certainly not required) to fast and pray for the duration of the trip.
